CNBC Interview of Binance COO | Binance – WazirX controversy
On 8th of august 2022, Binance’s Chief communications officer Patrick Hillman gave an interview to CNBC’s Deputy editor Shruti Mishra and told a lot of things about the ongoing Binance – WazirX clash.
Here is the tweet link to check out
Shruti mishra said that they also reached out to the WazirX team but nobody came forward for any public interview while Patrich Hillman from the Binance team came forward. I saw that whole video and here are few points that came out from that conversation:
- Binance wanted to get full platform acquisition but they didn’t get that as Zanmai labs was not letting that happen.
- Binance agrees somewhere that they have authority in the WazirX ecosystem and they also own that partly.
- Binance said that ED’s coming into action and CZ’s tweet has not much relation.
- Nischal Shetty quotes himself as CEO of WazirX and if he is CEO how binance can own it.
- Binance is looking to solve this matter asap but they are also not sure as of now whether this will be solved at an organizational level or in court.
- They do not want to have any relation with the WazirX or Zanmai labs now, at first in 2019 they were looking for a partner to capture the Indian market but now they will look for other platforms.
Nischal shetty said in his tweets that he has all the required documents to prove that Binance owns WazirX and he has not stepped back from any of his words while at the same time Binance is claiming things without any solid ground.
In this tweet Nischal cleared everything and cleared the difference between WazirX & Zanmai.
- Binance – WazirX deal was made and then Zanmai labs got a license from Binance to facilitate the crypto – inr trading in India.
- In February, Binance wanted the data of Indian users and wanted the control over Zanmai labs also, Nischal made it clear that for this you need to have a share in Zanmai labs or acquire it but Binance is not interested.
The only thing I am waiting for is a quick resolution and an official press release, not this Twitter spat.
